Review: Coco Chai Rooibos is a great lunch-time / final few hours at work blend. It has a spicy, fruity flavor with a sweet aroma that has a mild energizing effect. Nothing like a bold mate or black tea, but the spices provide a nice pick-me-up / kick without the caffeine, making it a good choice for later in the day.

After two steeps, the tea weakens considerably. Three is definitely doable but the body drops to light and the flavor is much more diluted. Would not recommend more than three steeps.

Over-steeping can cause bitterness, which in this case completely ruins the experience. Be careful not to do this!

Despite what David’s Tea site says, I don’t think this blend tastes good with dairy at all. Despite being “chai”, the tea itself is not thick enough to carry a good relationship with milk.

I find mild added sweetness complements the flavor of the blend without overwhelming it.
